Park, King Selected for Shrine Bowl

Dillon’s D.J. Park and Bryce King were recently selected to play in th 2012 Shrine Bowl on December 15 at Wofford’s Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, SC.

Offensive lineman D.J. Park is ranked as the state’s fifth best prospect. At 6’6” and 335 lbs., King is a four-year starter and was the first Wildcat to commit to play for the Gamecocks next year. He received the Best Blocker Award at the National Under Armour Combine in December 2011 and was named an HSSR All State Offensive Lineman. He was invited to participate in the MVP Football Camp in Atlanta, Georgia, and in May 2012 he was nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on January 5, 2013.

Bryce King

Offensive lineman Bryce King is a four-star recruit who has committed to play for the University of South Carolina. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound senior can play tackle or guard and was named All-Region several years in a row. He also participated in the National Under Armour Combine along with fellow Wildcats Park, Jabo Lee, and Joe Blue.

This will be the first time since 1995 that two Dillon players have been selected, and the third time in four years that the Wildcats have had a player at the Shrine Bowl.

The Shrine Bowl matches top seniors from South Carolina and North Carolina. North Carolina won last year’s game 26-19 but South Carolina leads the series 41-30-4.
