Dick Richardson

Dew Percy “Dick” Richardson, 80, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Latta Baptist Church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation was 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born in Dillon County, SC, November 11, 1931, he was the son of the late John Floyd Richardson, Sr. and Cindy Wise Richardson.  He was a member of Latta Baptist Church, a charter member of the Latta Fire Department where he was the former Fire Chief,  and also charter member of the Latta Rescue Squad.  He was a Mason and a Shriner, and he served in the National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Frances Cottingham Richardson of the home; daughters, Charlene (Randy) Grimsley of Dillon, Crystal Ann Richardson of the home, and Lynne (Arthur, Jr. “Artie”) Quick of Dillon; grandchildren, Arthur (Art) Quick, III, and Jordan Grimsley; sisters, Sarah Stone of North Augusta, and Eugenia Phillips of Temperance Hill; brothers, Phillip Richardson, Sr. of Aberdeen, and Edward Richardson of Latta.
Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 1203 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.
