Hyler Hired As Director Of Dillon’s Carolina Family Planning Clinic

Carolina Family Planning Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Teri Hyler as the Director of the Dillon Clinic. Teri worked prior to the opening of the center to help it get started. She has been a volunteer since its opening in January. She comes to the position with much experience, having been on the staff of three other crisis pregnancy centers. She has a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She has been in counseling since 1989.
Carolina Family Planning Center exists to assist both men and women of all ages through unplanned pregnancies, to promote alternatives to abortion, to train in parenting skills, to offer abstinence education, to offer help and hope, and is committed to presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ in both word and deed. Services are provided free of charge, and clients are counseled in a loving, non-judgmental way.
The Carolina Family Planning Center offers free self-administered pregnancy testing, peer counseling, and the Earn While You Learn program. It is able to help men and women and families who are in crisis and need support.
The feedback from clients has been very positive. One client stated, “I am so unsure of what I should be doing. I want to be the best parent I can. The pregnancy center has great volunteers and they have really helped me learn a lot. I just like going there.” Another client stated, “I enjoy the Earn While You Learn program. It helps me to learn how to be a better mom while I am getting things I need for my baby!” Another stated, “When I found out I was pregnant I was so nervous. My family offered to pay for my abortion. I heard about the center from a friend and went there for a pregnancy test. The staff was so nice and helpful. I started going to the center every week. My family now says they wish they had gotten this much support when they were starting a family.”
Carolina Family Planning Center depends upon volunteer staff. One volunteer stated, “I wanted to be a part of this center to offer my help. I have stocked baby clothes, prayed with the ladies and made a difference in their lives. But what I have found is that I have learned so much and I am the one who is being blessed. It has been a great experience.” If you are interested in discussing how to become a volunteer, please contact us at 616-6559.
