Sarah Rogers Powers, 76, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Dundee Nursing Home in Bennettsville.
Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Piney Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Marion County, SC, January 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Rogers and Minnie Richardson Rogers. She was a retired Seamstress, and was of the holiness faith.
Survivors include her children, Hazel (Monroe) Carter, and Patsy Powers, both of Sellers, Allen Powers of Latta, Billy (Joyce) Powers of Dillon, and Donna (Mickey) Watts of Latta; grandchildren, Dawn, Chris, and Rusty Carter, Oscar, and John Kelly Carter, Nick, Nicole and Nash McLellan, Wayne Powers, Wendy & Heidi Skipper, Rodney Powers, Jamie Powers, Nicholas Powers, Billy Joe Powers, Stephanie Powers, Tonya Blackmon, Melissa Moore, and Shannon Sosa; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Perry Rogers of Effingham; sisters, Gertie Jones of Darlington, Evelyn Byrd of Marion, and Helen Kirby of McBee.
Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Powers; and her sons, Tommy Powers and Randy Powers.
