Hilda Carliner Goldman

Mrs. Goldman, 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away on July 22, 2012 at CMC-Main. She was born on August 28, 1925 in Mullins, SC, daughter of the late Nathan Carliner and Bertha Fass Carliner Berry.
Mrs. Goldman spent her childhood in Baltimore, MD and Dillon, SC. She was married to the late Reuben Goldman of Charleston, SC. Her family members founded the congregation of Ohav Shalom Synagogue in Dillon, SC where she served as president of the Sisterhood for many years. She was a volunteer at Maxton Army Base during World War II. She moved to Charlotte in 1989 to be near her daughter and grandchildren, who were the precious jewels in her life. She was an ever-present fixture at Temple Israel and the Temple Gift Shop, where she was honored for her years of service raising money for the Synagogue. She was a long-time resident of the Carriage Club in Charlotte. She loved and was loved by all the staff and her friends. She treated everyone with love, dignity and respect. Hilda will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate to know her.
Mrs. Goldman is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Paul Putterman, of Charlotte, North Carolina and her son and daughter-in law, Nathan and Judy Goldman of Houston, Texas. She adored her 5 grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew and Andrew Putterman of Charlotte and Michael and Miriam Goldman of Houston. She also leaves behind a wonderful group of friends and staff at the Carriage Club of Charlotte, NC.
A service by the graveside was held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Greenlawn Perpetual Cemetery in Dillon, SC.
