The Marion-Dillon County Board of Disabilities has notified the city that it intends to purchase a home at 1320 East Washington Street in Dillon by the end of November 2012 to be operated as a Community Training Home 2, which is a four-bed community residence licensed by the S.C. Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The purchase price of the home is $120,000. The home will be staffed around the clock with at least two staff members on shift at all times. The project will provide 10 new jobs in the Dillon area (seven permanent and three temporary jobs). The area is zoned for this type of facility. Other group homes are located in the city on Lee Circle, Julia Lane, East Jefferson Street, and South 14th Avenue.
