The Town of Latta will receive a $500,000 Community Infrastructure grant from the Community Development Block Grant program, according to a letter the town received from Governor Nikki R. Haley.
Latta Mayor Nancy Brigman said the funds will be used to upgrade the sewer pump stations in the areas of Munn and Edwards Streets. Brigman stressed that this has nothing to do with the water and sewer line move made necessary by I-73 and is solely to upgrade the pump stations in the above mentioned areas. Brigman said they were really excited to receive the grant. “This is much-needed funding for the Town of Latta,” said Brigman.
