The Silver Rose To Visit Pee Dee Area Catholic Churches

One of the four Silver Roses, as part of the Knights of Columbus’ Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Program, will visit several Catholic churches in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina the week of 6-13-2012.
The Silver Rose is a symbol of the Knights of Columbus’ commitment to the pro-life cause. In 1960, the Silver Program began to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas. To mark the 50th Anniversary of the Silver Anniversary Rose Program, program has been expanded to have four roses travel through a total of 29 Catholic Dioceses in Eastern, Central and Western regions of the country with their final destination in Monterrey, Mexico.
Members of the Knights of Columbus A. A. Plikunas Council 8790 Marion/Dillon cordially invite the public to participate in a prayer service commemorating the Silver Rose’s visit on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 6 p.m., in the English, and at 7 p.m., in Spanish, at St. Louis Church. The service will be held in the Parish Life Center, located at the corners of East Jackson and Highway 301 North Street in Dillon. Additionally, Father Marcian Thet Kyaw will dedicate the grounds of St. Louis Church to the protection of Our Lady Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas.
