Meeting Minutes
Cindy Causey called the meeting to order welcoming everyone and opened with a prayer.
Joni welcomed everyone to the annual meeting. Joni introduced the Board Members and presented each one with a gift of appreciation for volunteering their time to be a part of this agency. All Board Members accepted to serve another year on the Council on Aging Board: Cindy Causey-Chairperson, Isaiah Collington-Vice Chairperson, Heyward Thompson, Judy Sanderson, Katie Paul, Mary Wilkes, Bobby McLean, Elda M. McCutchan, Dorothy Bethea, and Betsy Finklea.
Joni introduced the speakers: Sherry Johnson and Michelle Anderson
Sherry Johnson spoke about the services provided in Hartsville for the Dillon area…Family Caregiver Program-Grandparents assistance program-ICare.
Michelle Anderson spoke of assistance needed with the Medicare/Prescription D to contact CareSouth in Hartsville, they have resources that may be of assistance.
Joni introduced employees at the Council on Aging:
Jeanette Freitas-Assistant Director/Accountant, Iris Miller-Care Manager, Jesse Brigman, Van Driver, Irene Bethea-Site Manager/Driver, Lee Murphy-Driver for meals program, Molsia White-Home Care, Wanda Hayes, Site Manager.
Joni spoke of the new business: the new carpet and tile was being installed, the bathrooms were remodeled, produce vouchers to be given out in June, explanation was given as to how the units of service were reimbursed to receive Federal funds and State funds.
Joni recognized volunteers for the Council on Aging with a gift of appreciation. The 2012 volunteers are Mrs. Blanche Alford, Mrs. Millia Alford, Mrs. Katie Bethea, Mrs. Daisy Bullock, Mrs. Thelma Davis, Mrs. Annie Grice, Mrs. Edith Inman, Mr. Roger Luce, Mrs. Mamie Manning, Mrs. Margaret McCall, Mrs. Flora McDougal, Mr. Eugene McLellan, Mrs. Regina McRae, Mrs. Essie Moultrie, Mrs. Idella Ratley, Mrs. Vida Simpson, and Mrs. Cathleen Thompson.
The meeting was adjourned. Lunch was provided.
