Vikings Shut Out Hannah-Pamplico, Creek Bridge

The Latta Vikings shut out Hannah-Pamplico’s Raiders 13-0 in five innings on Thursday, then shut out Creek Bridge 18-0 and 12-0 in a double-header on Friday.

Travis Powers picked up the win on the mound for the Vikings, pitching all five innings and allowing only two hits and two walks, striking out one.

The Vikings scored two runs each in the first and second innings, adding five in the third and four in the fourth to claim the win.

John Kever Love went 2-for-3 to lead the Vikings at bat. Buck Terry went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, and Chandler Morrell went 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

Hannah-Pamplico’s Prosser took the loss, pitching two innings for four runs, four earned runs, four walks, and two outs.

In game one against Creek Bridge on Friday, the Vikings shut down the Warriors 18-0 in two innings. Christian Hendrix was the winning pitcher for the Vikings, pitching both innings for one hit and three outs.

In game two, the Vikings shut out the Warriors 10-0 in three innings. Hendrix again picked up the win, going all three innings and allowing no hits or walks while striking out seven.

The Vikings improve to 3-0 in the regular season with a 2-0 record in Region 8A.

Latta is scheduled to travel to Carvers Bay tonight at 5:30, and will host Mullins on Thursday and Green Sea-Floyds on Friday.
