The Latta Town Council passed the first readings of two ordinances regarding water and sewer rates.
According to the unofficial minutes of the Latta Town Council, the following action took place.
First Reading of Ordinance 2012.01 – An Ordinance Adopting Water and Sewer Rates for Resident Water Users of the Town of Latta, South Carolina.
Mayor Brigman read Ordinance 2012.01. Councilman Mason stated that “who shall connect” should be changed to “who is connected or shall connect” in order to prevent any confusion. Councilman Stoops noted that monetary wording needed to match the monetary notation. Councilwoman Williams made a motion to adopt the First Reading of Ordinance 2012.01 – An Ordinance Adopting Water and Sewer Rates for Resident Water Users of the Town of Latta, South Carolina with the changes. Councilman Reaves seconded the motion. The vote was recorded as follows: Shelley – Aye, Stoops – Aye, Brigman – Aye, Williams – Aye, Reaves – Aye, and Mason – Aye. Motion passed unanimously.

Mayor Brigman read Ordinance 2012.02. Councilwoman Williams made a motion to adopt the First Reading of Ordinance 2012.02 – An Ordinance Adopting Water and Sewer Rates for Nonresident Water Users of the Town of Latta, South Carolina with the changes made in Ordinance 2012.01. Councilman Mason seconded the motion. The vote was recorded as follows: Shelley – Aye, Stoops – Aye, Brigman – Aye, Williams – Aye, Reaves – Aye, and Mason – Aye. Motion passed unanimously.
