Memorial services for James Leighton “Leigh” Mitchell, Jr. will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Latta Baptist Church with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Mitchell, 47, died Thursday, November 18, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Lumberton, NC, September 18, 1964, he was the son of the late James Leighton Mitchell, Sr. and Nancy Brock Mitchell Smith. He was a member of Latta Baptist Church, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and was employed by McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Thompson Mitchell of Latta; son, Joshua Lee Mitchell of Latta; step-son, Jed Rowell of Latta; sisters, Norma Jackson of Bladenboro, NC, and Leslie Measamer of Greenville, NC; nieces and nephews.
