James Raymond Owen

James Raymond Owen, 69, of Latta, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in a Florence Hospital after an illness.
Mr. Owen was born on September 15, 1942 in Muenster, TX, a son of the late George Raymond and Agnes Cecilia Owen. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Muenster, TX. He is a US Navy Veteran having served on numerous tours during the Vietnam War with the US Navy Seal Team 1. He has been a resident of SC for the last 21 years.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by two brothers, Glenn and Michael Owen and a sister, Joyce Koelzer.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Temple Moore Owen of the home; two sons, Dakota Ray Owen of the home and Steven Owen of Seattle, WA; two daughters, Nikita Jo’lisa Owen of the home and DeVena Owen of Cordova, Alaska; a grandson, Jonathan Owen of Seattle, WA; a step-daughter, Melissa Turner-Dew of Latta, SC; nine sisters, Elizabeth Hollis of Bartlett, TN, Frankie Hermes of Gainesville, TX, Georgia Henscheid of Irving, TX, Margie Pagel of Lake Dallas, TX, Lois Wray of Irving, TX, Mary Trammell of Lake Dallas, TX, Cheryl Hibbitts of Sachse, TX, Sue Patrick of Fort Worth, TX, and Karla Graham of The Trophy Club, TX; an aunt, Julia Cunningham; 31 nieces and nephews; 30 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
