Lady Warriors Finish Third in Region

Dillon Christian’s Schools Lady Warriors fell to Marlboro Academy on Tuesday but finished third in the region as they wrapped the season.

The Lady Warriors dominated the first two sets against Marlboro with scores of 25-11 and 25-17. Marlboro rallied for a 22-25 finish in game three and kept the momentum up for a 19-25 finish in game four. In the final set, Marlboro edged Dillon Christian to claim a 3-2 victory with the final set score of 11-15.

Lauren Lee led the Lady Warriors with 11 kills and Holly Davis added 10. Lee and Davis each made three digs and Lee added two aces with Davis making one.

Courtney Miller made 13 assists and she and Kathryn Brown each made six aces. Brown also made six digs, five kills, and one block, and Miller added one dig and two kills.

Kylee Sullivan made four digs and one kill for the Warriors; Frances Stephens added two aces, one kill, and one dig; and Hailey Harris made three digs and one ace.

Dillon Christian wrapped the season with a 9-9 overall record and an 8-6 region record to finish in third place out of eight teams in Region 4-AA.

The SCISA Class AA playoffs are scheduled to begin on Friday, October 21. Dillon’s first around opponent and game time were not available at press time. Be sure to check the Sports section at thedillonherald.com for the latest schedules!
