This week’s recipe came from my late Aunt Ora McCormac. She was my fifth grade teacher and I went the entire school year without calling her name.
1/2 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups Rice Krispies
coconut and/or confectioner’s sugar
Put margarine, sugar, egg and dates in pot and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Add Rice Krispies and nuts and stir well. Cool until you can handle with ease. Roll into small balls and roll in coconut and/or confectioner’s sugar. Makes about 50 dogs.
