Bozard Promoted To Colonel

Lt. Colonel Jeffrey C. Bozard was promoted to Colonel, 113th Fighter Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard (DCANG), Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland recently.
Col. Bozard has served as Maintenance Group Commander since August 2010.
The Maintenance Group consists of 400 aircraft maintainers divided into two squadrons, an operations flight, quality assurance, and a support staff.
These units function together as a massive team to provide and maintain the 21 F-16C+ aircraft of the 113th Operations Group.
The F-16C+’s are used to fulfill their three main missions of air defense over the Nation’s Capital Region, daily continuation training sorties, and overseas Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments to assist the Air Force in achieving our Nation’s strategic objectives.
Col. Bozard began his military career in May 1990 upon graduation from the United States Air Force Academy.
He has served 21 years on active duty, flying trainer and fighter aircraft in Mississippi, Florida and Japan, and District of Columbia.
Col. Bozard has deployed four times to the Middle East as both a combat pilot and an Expeditionary Group Commander in support of Operation Southern Watch and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has amassed over 3,800 hours of flying time with over 150 hours in combat.
He maintains his flying currency today as an F-16C+ Instructor Pilot with the 121st Fighter Squadron based at Andrews AFB.
Col. Bozard is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bozard of Dillon.
