Robert Russell Rich, 53, died in his home June 11, 2011. Visitation was from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, June 12, 2011 in the Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta, SC. Funeral services were 6:00 P.M., Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Union Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rich was born October 3, 1957, in Latta, SC, the son of the late Beulah Owens and John Rich. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and was on the coaching staff of the Latta Rattlers Baseball Team. He had retired from Case Company as a sheet metal worker.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte Powers Rich; a son, John Russell Rich of Latta, SC; four daughters, Valarie Marie (Kent) Rowell of Latta, SC, Heather Nicole (John) Lee of Latta, SC, Victoria Lynn Rich of Temperence Hill, SC, and Haylee Vaughn of Ky; four grandchildren, Colby Rowell, Zoey Fowler, Neil Fowler, Gavin Fowler, and a fifth grandchild, baby Lee, is expected in October. He is also survived by his brothers, Carroll (Mary Jo) Rich of Columbia, SC, Barry “Buck” (Castine) Rich of Seatle, WA, and Billy Rich of Atlanta, GA.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Marvin, Buddy, and Johnny Rich.
