Ceremony Remembers Those Serving In War On Terrorism

A brief ceremony was held on Monday to pay tribute to those soldiers who are fighting the war on terrorism and to remember the three soldiers from Dillon County who lost their lives. The ceremony also acknowledged the death and defeat of Osama bin Laden, the terrorist credited with the September 11, 2001 tragedy. All of those pictured above took part in the ceremony which consisted of words from Judge James Lockemy, Janet Bethea-the mother of a soldier currently serving, Clay Young-County Administrator, Debbie Locklair-the mother-in-law of two soldiers, along with music by Jon Whisnand and Barbara Causey, prayer by Rev. Mike Rouse, and a wreath placement by Locklair and Robert Abson. Flag bearer was Larry Cook of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.(Photos by Johnnie Daniels/The Dillon Herald)
