The Latta Vikings earned two more wins this week, going 14-1 over Kingstree and 4-0 over Green-Sea Floyds.
On Tuesday, the Vikings traveled to Green Sea to face the Trojans and came away with the 4-0 win. Latta scored their first run in the second, adding two more in the third and one in the sixth.
J.R. Rich was the winning pitcher, going seven innings and allowing only three hits and two walks. He struck out eight Trojans in the victory.
Latta’s lead hitters were Brandon Lane, 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Donell Stanley, 2-for-4 with a double.
Latta’s record improves to 5-2 with an undefeated 2-0 record in Region 8A.
The Vikings will travel to Timmonsville for their next matchup on Thursday, March 17, and will have their second encounter with Kingstree on Monday, March 21.
