Latta’s Lady Vikings took down the Hannah-Pamplico Lady Raiders 6-1 on Monday night in the first softball game of the regular season.
Latta scored two runs in the second, one in the fourth, two more in the fifth, and one in the sixth for the 6-1 win.
Anna Rogers pitched all seven innings, giving up only six hits and one earned run. She struck out five players and had only one walk.
The leading hitter for the Vikings was Kaitlin Lewis who went three for three with a double and three RBIs. Allison Moody was two for four with two doubles.
The losing pitcher was Hannah-Pamplico’s Amber Purvis. She pitched two innings and gave up two runs.
Latta starts the season with a 1-0 record. They were scheduled to travel to Hannah-Pamplico again on Wednesday.
On Friday, March 11, the Lady Vikings will travel to Carvers Bay for a 5:30 game, and they’ll travel again on Tuesday, March 15, to face Green Sea-Floyds.
