Chelsea Frazier, Jaquana Davis Named to All-State Basketball Teams

The 2010-2011 Boys and Girls SCBCA All-State teams were announced on Wednesday, March 2, with two players from Dillon County among the ranks.

Dillon’s Chelsea Frazier was named to the Class AA girls team. This season Frazier earned 1500 career points and had more points in the regular season than any other female high school player in the Pee Dee with a total of 678. She averaged 28.2 points per game across 24 games and picked up an average of 12 rebounds per game. In addition, she was named to the All-Region team and is a finalist for the Hoop Stars player of the year award.

Lake View’s Jaquana Davis was named to the Class A girls team after being named the 2010-2011 Region 8-A Player of the Year. Davis is a senior and co-captain of the Lady Gators basketball team. She was the lead scorer for Lake View this season with 241 points, averaging 20.5 points per game. She grabbed a total of 106 rebounds in the regular season, averaging 9.6 per game, and made a team-high 31 blocks and 31 steals this season.

Player of the Year honors went to Candace Wright of Marion in Class AA and Hayden Latham of Christ Church in Class A.

Frazier and Davis are among a total 22 players from the Pee Dee named to the teams this year. Other honorees from the Pee Dee included Ratesta Brown and Darryl Palmer of Timberland, Marqui McKelvy of Marion, Darnell Coleman of Mullins, Tyrone Brown of Carvers Bay, Vic Williams of Creek Bridge, and E.J. Davis of Johnsonville.
