Dillon 1-1 in Preseason Baseball

The Dillon Wildcats went 1-1 this week with a win over Central of Pageland and a loss to Wilson.

The Wildcats toppled Central 10-7 with Taylor Langston as the winning pitcher. Other stats were not available at press time.

On Tuesday, Dillon lost to Wilson 5-2. Wilson scored first in the third and then scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to put them ahead 4-0. They added another run in the fifth, while Dillon only managed one run in the sixth and a second in the seventh.

The winning pitcher was Wilson’s John Hall, who pitched all seven innings, allowing only five hits and one walk. He totaled five strikeouts. Jamie Callahan was the losing pitcher, giving up four runs and four hits across four innings.

Callahan was the leading hitter for Dillon, going 2-3 and hitting a home run. Carnell Montgomery and Trevor Edgerton were the lead hitters for Wilson, each going 1-3. Edgerton had an RBI.

The Wildcats regular season officially kicks off on Monday, March 7, when they take on the Golden Tornadoes in Fairmont at 5:00 p.m.
