The Dillon Christian School Warriors improved their season record to 7-10 with a 85-38 win against New Prospect Christian on Monday, January 31, and a 41-38 win over Trinity Collegiate on Friday, February 4.
The Warriors traveled to Pamplico, SC, last Monday to face New Prospect Christian for the second time this season, and for the second time, Dillon Christian managed to topple the otherwise undefeated New Prospect, 85-38. Only days before, on January 27, the Warriors had overcome New Prospect 90-41.
In Monday’s bout, Parker Coleman led the charge for the Dillon Christian Warriors with 28 points, including three successful three-pointers and seven of nine free throw attempts. Coleman also made eight assists and six steals, and grabbed six total rebounds.
Neil Melvin added 19 points for the Warriors, and Matthew Price and Tyler Davis also scored in double digits, scoring 17 and 14 points respectively. Melvin made seven of eight free throws, picked up a team-high 16 rebounds, and made six assists, two blocks, and two steals. Davis picked up 15 rebounds and made six blocks, two steals, and an assist. Price grabbed 13 rebounds and made two steals, making five of six free throws attempted.
Will Brown also scored, adding seven points and sinking one successful three-pointer. Brown nabbed three rebounds and made three assists, two blocks, and two steals.

Friday, February 4, saw the Warriors continue their streak with a road win against the Trinity Collegiate Titans in Darlington, SC.
The Warriors took the lead in the first half, outscoring Trinity 10-8 and 12-9 to put them up 22-17 at the half. Trinity returned to the court with renewed enthusiasm, managing to go 15-10 in the third to tie the game at 32 points. A close fourth quarter would decide the game, with the Warriors finishing 9-6 over the Titans to earn them a three-point win, 41-38.
Kin Melvin led the Warriors with 18 points, while Neil Melvin added 11. Kin made two of six attempted three-pointers and six of 11 free throws, while Neil made one of three attempted three-pointers and three of four free throws. Neil grabbed a team-high 16 rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and an assist, while Kin picked up five rebounds, three steals, and three assists.
Matthew Price, Tyler Davis, and Will Brown also scored for Dillon Christian, each adding four points to the win. Brown had two rebounds, one steal, and one assist, with Davis making four blocks and one assist and picking up two rebounds. Price grabbed 11 rebounds and made two blocks, two steals, and two of six attempted free throws.
Parker Coleman picked up two defensive rebounds and made five assists and two steals for the Warriors.
The Titans were led by Damon Samuel with 10 points and Josh Pruett and Michael Pavy with seven points each. Also scoring were Christian Carey with six points, Justin Covington with four, and Matthew Lee and Will Naso with two each.
The wins increase the Warriors overall record this season to 7-10 and gives them a 5-7 region record in SCISA Region 4-2A.
The Warriors were scheduled to travel to Pee Dee Academy on Monday, February 7, for their last regular season game. The Eagles are 7-9 this season, and 7-6 in the league.
GIRLS
The Lady Warriors fell to the Lady Titans for the second time this season, with the Titans winning 56-40 on Friday.
Trinity Collegiate started the game by putting Dillon Christian down 19-12 and 16-6 to lead 35-18 at the half. The Lady Warriors returned from the break to outscore the Titans 11-9, but it wasn’t enough to close the 15-point gap heading into the fourth quarter. The two teams were nearly evenly matched in the final minutes, with the Lady Titans outscoring DCS by one point, 12-11, to give them the win by 16 points.
Trinity’s entire roster scored, with Allie Young earning a game-high 21 points, grabbing five rebounds, and making six assists and five steals. Janie Fuller and Bailey Avant each earned 10 points for the Lady Titans, and and Brenne Fisher made eight points and grabbed seven rebounds. Gabby McElveen also added five points, and Sarah Harwell added two to the win.
The Lady Warriors were led by a team-high 16 points from Amber Wiggins, who also picked up a team-high 20 rebounds and made two steals. Wiggins also made six of seven attempted free throws. Morgan Graham also scored in the double digits, adding 10 points for the Lady Warriors with two successful three-pointers. Graham also made five steals and an assist, and picked up two defensive rebounds.
Emily Prutzman added six points for DCS and grabbed three rebounds, and Lauren Lee earned four points, making five assists and two steals and grabbing one defensive rebound. Kathryn Brown made one two-pointer and picked up three rebounds, and Kylee Sullivan added two points from two of three attempted free throws. Sullivan also made two assists and picked up one offensive rebound.
The Lady Warriors record falls further to 2-14 and 0-13 in the region. Trinity Collegiate improves to 10-10 and 5-8.
The Lady Warriors’ final game of the regular season was scheduled on Monday, February 7, against Pee Dee Academy.
