Mary Frances Rudisill Allison

Mary Frances Rudisill Allison, 90, died peacefully at her home at Southminster in Charlotte on January 11, 2011. A native of Dallas North Carolina, she was preceded   in death by her parents, Albert R. and Isabell Hoffman Rudisill , sisters Katherine Rudisill May, and Linda J. Rudisill and brother William A. Rudisill.
Mary Frances graduated from Kings College.  During WWII she worked in Charlotte at the Quartermaster Depot and enjoyed being a member of the Spinsters Club and acting in Theater Charlotte productions.
She was married to Kermit D. Allison in 1947.  He preceded her in death 1988.  She is survived by two daughters. Kay and husband Robert B. Norris, June Allison and her husband Philip Temple, three grandson, Bryan and Josh Norris, and Austin Temple, all of Charlotte. She was a favorite of her 12 nieces and nephews. Her husband’s career dictated multiple moves  and Mary Frances left legions of devoted friends in Black Mountain, Wadesboro, Raleigh, and Waynesville, North Carolina and, Dillon South Carolina.   She had boundless energy and her positive outlook and loving kindness attracted people young and old to her.  In every community Mary Frances became a beloved grade mother, Sunday School teacher, youth group advisor, and Girl Scout leader. She was a great neighbor and the life of every party.
Mary Frances had a strong faith which she demonstrated in the way she interacted with everyone she met. She found people of all ages and backgrounds fascinating and always took time to listen. She tirelessly gave of herself to anyone who needed a friend, offering encouragement and support.
After her husband’s death she cared for her parents and younger sister until their deaths and then moved first to Burlington North Carolina and then Charlotte to be near her daughters and grandsons
Special thanks are given to Mary’s wonderful nurses and caregivers at Southminster who so lovingly cared for her during declining health.
Visitation will be Thursday evening January 13, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the home of Robert and Kay Norris, 500 Hermitage Rd., Charlotte, NC. Funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 14th, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 103 W. Church St., Dallas, NC, 28034.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, to the Alzheimer’s Association, or the charity of your choice.
