Mary Ola Smith Arnette, 82, died at her home in Dillon, SC, July 24, 2010. Visitation will be from 1:30 – 2:30 PM, Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon with Funeral Services following at 3:00 PM in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mrs. Arnette was born in Marlboro County, the daughter of the late Mary Jane Patterson and Elliott D. Smith. She was the wife of the late Gentry Arnette.
She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, a Charter Member of the Woodmen of the World, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW No. 9116. She was owner of Arnette Motors having inheriting it from her husband.
Mrs. Arnette is survived by her son Dr. Tomas Ray Arnette of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Ann (Scott) Camp of Columbus, NC; a brother, Jack (Laura) Smith of Lancaster, SC; three grandsons, Trey (Leslie) Arnette of Duluth, GA, Ben (Jessica) Arnette of Alpharetta, GA, and Thomas Ray “TJ” Arnette, Jr. (student at USC) of Columbia, SC; two great granddaughters, Adriana and Savannah Grace Arnette; five great grandsons, Gentry IV, Harrington, Jack Davis, Caden, and John Ben Arnette, Jr.; a daughter in law, Ann Arnette of Augusta, GA.
She was predeceased by her son, Gentry “Butch” Arnette, Jr.; sisters, Colleen Wilson, Nell Averitt, Pat Swindell, and Louise Floyd; brothers, Bernis, Millard, Donald, and J.P. Smith.
