The Latta Lady Vikings handed Andrews a 62-42 loss in Latta on Tuesday, January 7, in varsity basketball.
Latta held a slim 2-point, 11-9, lead after the first quarter of play. By halftime Latta’s lead was 7 points, 31-24. After 3 quarters of play, Latta was up 44-27.
Latta’s Ri’Ana Green scored 17 points including five 2-point shots, two 3-point shots, and one free throw. Moya McDuffie added 13 points with five 2-point shots and one 3-point shot. Bricelyn Berry and Eziara Grice each had 8 points on four 2-point shots. Kadaisha Wheeler had two 3-point shots and one 2-point shot for 8 points. Dasha Burdsall and Adaya Gordon each had two 2-point shots for 4 points each.
Andrews’ Cami Samson led her team in scoring with 13 points with NyAsia Brown adding 12 points. Faith Callaway and Chandler Epps each had 4 points. Caroline Bourne, Maauri Gibson, Marlaysaa Brown, and Laniya Edwards each had 2 points.
The Latta Lady Vikings committed 5 fouls in the first half and 5 fouls in the second half.
Latta will travel to Hannah-Pamplico on Friday, January 10.
