The funeral procession for J.W. Bailey was held on Tuesday, December 17th, after a service at Dillon First Baptist Church. A firefighter’s funeral was held for Bailey, who served on the fire department and rescue squad for over 52 years. First responders from all over the area participated in the procession. Shown on the back of the fire truck carrying Bailey to Greenlawn Cemetery is his grandson, Weston. Bailey was tragically killed in an armed robbery at his store, J.W. Bailey’s store on Highway 301 South, last Thursday. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office at 843-774-1432.
