Dillon Christian School Suffers 9-5 Loss To Robert E. Lee

Dillon Christian School suffered a 9-5 loss to Robert E. Lee in varsity softball played in Dillon on Tuesday, April 23.
Robert E. Lee scored a run in the top of the first inning and another run in the top of the fourth inning before Dillon Christian School managed to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the fourth inning. Each team tacked on 3 runs in the fifth inning. Robert E. Lee managed to score 3 runs in the top of the sixth inning and another run in the top of the seventh inning.
Each team managed 7 hits in the game.
Dillon Christian School’s Madison Bailey connected for 3 hits in 4 at-bats while Lindsay Branch was perfect at the plate with 2 hits and 2 rbi in 2 at-bats. Sarah Martin had a hit and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Robert E. Lee’s Emma McCutcheon had a home run, a double, and 3 rbi in her 4 at-bats. Carson Shannon was perfect at the plate with a home run, a single, and 3 rbi in her 2 at-bats. McKenzie Watts picked up the win. She pitched 4 innings and allowed 4 hits 2 runs that were not earned, walked 2, and struck out 3.
Madison Bailey was charged with the loss. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 7 hits, 9 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 5, and struck out 3. Dillon Christian School committed 4 errors while Robert E. Lee committed 2 errors in the game.
