Dorothy McKenzie Watson, 89, died Sunday, April 7, 2019, surrounded by her family at home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bert Petty, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Kannaday Funeral Home of Dillon. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the church.
Mrs. Watson was born in Dillon, SC, December 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Brunson and Addie Carter McKenzie. As a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church she served in the WMU and Young at Heart Women’s Group. Dorothy was also a member of the Pilot Club.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Watson of the home; daughters, Sonja Rogers and Jamie Sue Stephens (Neal) both of Dillon; grandchildren, Allen Stephens (Callie), Dorothy Stephens, Jim Rogers (Kendall Robinson), and Liz Rogers (Taylor Eubanks); great-grandchild, Neal Allen Stephens III; brothers, Richard McKenzie (Helen McDaniel) and Gene McKenzie; and sister, Janice McKenzie.
The family has requested that memorials be made to Young at Heart Club, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1625 Highway 57 South, Dillon, SC 29536.
