Marion Gets Win Over Lady Wildcats

The Marion Lady Swamp Foxes took a 6-2 win over the visiting Dillon Lady Wildcats in varsity softball on Tuesday, March 26, in Marion.
Marion took a 5-run lead in the bottom of the first inning that would prove to be all of the scoring needed for the win. Dillon responded with a run in the top of the third inning and one in the top of the fourth inning. The Lady Swamp Foxes scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Marion connected for 6 hits, and Dillon had 5 hits in the game.
Marion’s Macey Waugh had a double, a single, and 3 rbi in her 4 at-bats.
Dillon’s Nyeisha Wilson managed a triple and a single while Abby Bristow connected for a double and a rbi in her 4 at-bats.
Macey Waugh picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 6 hits, 2 runs that were earned, walked 3, and struck out 3.
Charlotte Sellers was charged with the loss. She pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed 3 hits, 5 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 6, and struck out 1.
Dillon committed only 1 error in the game while Marion committed 2 errors.
Dillon will travel to Cheraw today (Tuesday, April 2) for a 6:30 p.m. game.
