Several Commit On Signing Day

The Ellis Performing Arts Center was the setting for the four football standouts at Latta High School who signed on Wednesday, February 6, to continue their football careers.
Latta High School principal Leigh Sloan welcomed everyone to this event. She stated it was a privilege to share in the excitement in the next step for four of Latta’s students. The exclaimed “These are four great Vikings, and we are proud of their achievements on and off the field.”
Surrounded by family, friends, coaching staff, students, and others, Latta defensive back Brandon Page signed to attend Ramah Academy in Rock Hill, S.C.
Brandon’s father influenced him the most in the sport of football.
Not only does Brandon excel in football, he also plays basketball.
Brandon feels that Ramah Academy will be the best fit for his future.
When recalling his experiences on the football field, Brandon enjoys his interception against North Charleston in the playoffs.
Page will carry a good work ethic from high school to the college level.
Brandon is undecided about his major.
When not practicing or playing football, Page enjoys video games.
Brandon’s parents, Brandon, Sr. and Jessica Page are extremely proud of their son. They expect only the best from him as he pursues his dream.
Although Nasir Sellers received offers from Christ Community College and Methodist University, he signed with Ramah Academy in Rock Hill, S. C, where he will major in Business Administration.
Sellers should fit well at Ramah Academy as he thrives in the good environment and great coaching staff who gives one an opportunity to play and excel at football.
Having played football for only 4 years, Sellers received his inspiration about football from Latta Coach Brandon Iseman. Sellers also plays basketball.
Football has much adversity in it.
Sellers enjoys playing football and hanging out with his family.
His parents, Tammy Bethea and Kurtis Sellers, are also very proud of their son and his accomplishments. They will always support him in his football career.
After receiving offers from Erskine and St. Andrews, Hadea Graham signed with Presbyterian College as he feels he is comfortable there and fits in well with others there. He will be majoring in Pre-vet and Biology.
When he heads off to college, he will carry a good work ethic instilled in him while at Latta High. He enjoyed being with his teammates and coaches at Latta and the experiences that they all shared on and off the football field.
Graham received the Defensive Lineman award in 2017 while at Latta. Previously to that award, he garnered the JV Defensive MVP award at Mullins High School in 2015.
When Graham is not on the football field, he enjoys fishing and driving around.
Keith and Amanda Graham, Hadea’s parents, wants only the best for their son as he pursues his football dream and his education.
Although Stanley received offers from other colleges, Deonte’ Stanley signed to continue his football and college career at Hutchinson Community College where he will major in Sports Management.
Stanley is not only a good football player, but also he excels in baseball and basketball. Stanley enjoys being on the playing field with all of his brothers.
Deonte’ was influenced the most by his big brother
Deonte’ has been playing football for 8 years, but he still has the passion for the sport and will carry the passion he has for the game to the college level.
Stanley should receive playing time as a defensive back/wide receiver.
While not on the practice or playing field, Stanley enjoys video games.
Tina Burch and Donnell Stanley, Sr. are very proud of Deonte’s accomplishments. They look forward to following him as he pursues his football career and his education.
Head football coach Brandon Iseman and Athletic Director Aaron Miles had only complimentary remarks for all of these student athletes who are not only furthering their football careers but also are furthering their education. They both look forward to continued success for all of these young men.

On Wednesday morning, February 6, at the Dillon High School athletic office, JerDarius McDaniel continued his football career by signing with Erskine College, and Quadray “Dray” Thompson signed with Wingate University.
Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jackie Hayes congratulated both players and their families.
“It all starts in the classrooms”, said Hayes. Both of you have good ethics.
Hayes stated “you both played in four state championship games and won two of those.” You both have good support systems in your families. We appreciate your contributions to our programs.
“Parents and grandparents, thank you for your support to our coaches”, exclaimed Coach.
“We must keep our train on the tracks. We appreciate your support of our program.” Coach Hayes is very excited for these two football players.
McDaniel will continue the game he loves so much plus he will work towards a degree in Business Administration.
McDaniel, a linebacker who has played for the Dillon Wildcats for 4 years, has enjoyed his football days while on the championship team.
The state football championship team of 2017 is McDaniel’s best memory while playing at Dillon where he was influenced most by Coach Mac.
McDaniel believes he is a good fit at Erskine College as the college is small, and he was well received by all at the school, especially the coaching staff.
As McDaniel transitions to the next level, he already has the discipline he needs to continue to better himself at the next level.
In 2018 he received the AAA All-State Defense award.
McDaniel enjoys working and watching movies in his spare time if not practicing football.
His parents, Jermaine and Felecia McDaniel, are very proud of their son and his accomplishments. They look forward to watching him grow in the game he loves.
Dray Thompson, son of Reggie and Vera Thompson, signed to attend Wingate University although he had offers from other schools. He will major in sports medicine.
Having been influenced by his father and his brother, Thompson has played varsity football for Dillon for four years. During that time as a linebacker, he enjoyed playing the game and winning, especially two state championships.Although he received awards, he loves his state championship rings.
He should fit well into the program at Wingate University as Dray has a winning attitude and works hard to accomplish that.
Dray’s parents, Reggie and Vera Thompson, are very proud of their son and his accomplishments. They look forward to his continued success on the football field.

On February 1, 2017, Kanore McKinnon placed his name on the line to begin the next chapter in his life by attending Georgia Military College.
On February 6, 2019, he is transferring to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
McKinnon is a 200-lb, 6’3’ wide receiver. He was on the Dillon Wildcats on two state championship teams, where they were 14-0 each season.
