The Dillon Wildcats edged the Lake City Panthers 55-54 in varsity boys basketball action in Dillon on Friday, January 11.
Dillon led 17-10 after the first period of play. With 1:41 seconds remaining in the first half, Lake City’s Caldwell knotted the score at 25 points. At halftime, Lake City led by 1 point, 29-28. After 3 periods of play, Lake City was up 43-36.
Zy’Aire Charles led the Wildcats with 15 points followed by J. Green with 12 points. T. Lampley added 10 points while Reaves and C. Wright each contributed 7 points. McKinnon sank 2 baskets for 4 points.
Rose led Lake City with 13 points followed by Bailey with 12 points. Hailey added 9 points while McClam connected for 7 points. Johnson had 6 points, and Howard added 2 points. By the end of the first half each team had committed 10 fouls. Dillon committed 4 fouls, and Lake City committed 5 fouls in the third period.
Dillon will travel to Cheraw today (January 15).
