Agents of the S.C. Law Enforcement Division arrested a Latta man on Thursday in connection with the death earlier this month of his 13-month-old child.
Adrian Scott Contreras, 19, was charged with homicide by child abuse.
The request for the SLED investigation was made by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Contreras was booked at the Dillon County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
