Mabel Esther Black Baxley Mew

Mabel Esther Black Baxley Mew, 87, died Saturday August 4, 2018 at her residence.
Born in Dillon County, August 12 1930, she was the daughter of the late Dan W. Black and Minnie Brisson Black. She was a member of Hamer Church of God for 72 years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 7, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hamer Church of God with burial in Evergreen Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Ann Saunders of Dillon; son David E. Baxley (Cathy) of Dillon; sister, Maxine Hayes of Hamer; stepchildren, Jimmy Mew of Dillon, Donald Mew of Georgia, Jackie Lambert of Georgetown, Harold Mew (Bonnie) of Dillon, Byron Mew (Pam) of Socastee, and Mark Mew (Faith) of Dillon; grandchildren, Christel Youmans of Latta, David Baxley of Floyd Dale, and Mark Baxley of Hamer; five great-grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, 49 step-great-grandchildren, and six step-great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mew was preceded in death by her husbands, David Buck Baxley, and Jack Mew; brothers and sisters, Lucille Huggins, Helen Perkins, Dan Black, Rudolph Black, Curtis Black, Tracy Black, Ray Black, and Edwin Huggins.
