WEST COLUMBIA -A memorial service for Willie “Wiggie” Gaston Lucas Jones, 82, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine St. Chapel.
The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Wiggie passed away July 25, 2018. Born in Dillon, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William Gaston Lucas and Sarah Barlow Lucas Allen.
She was a graduate of the 1958 class of Winthrop University and taught elementary school in Columbia before joining her family business, Jones School Supply.
She was a member of the Columbia Sailing Club and Ashland UMC.
She is predeceased by her husband Martin Bellinger Jones, Jr., and her sister Evelyn Linder. Survivors include her daughters, Sara L. Jones ( Allyson J. Weseley) of Sea Cliff, N.Y. and Suzanne Jones Tedder (Tony) of Columbia, three grandchildren, Reagan Tedder, Kate Weseley-Jones, Eli Weseley-Jones, and three sisters, Lou Ardrey, Dot Lyles and Mary Jane Magrath.
