County Administrator Rodney Berry’s contract remains in place expiring on December 31, 2018. After a lengthy executive session where one of the issues was listed as discussion of the county administrator’s contract, council came out. Councilman James “Hoghead” Campbell made a motion to extend Berry’s contract to December 31, 2019. This was seconded by Councilman Archie Scott. Councilman Campbell, Councilman A. Scott, and Councilman Jack Scott voted to extend the contract. Councilman Harold Moody, Chairman Stevie Grice, Councilman Gerome McLeod, and Councilman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr. voted against extending the contract. Berry will continue in his current position. The bottom line is nothing changed with Berry’s current contract one way or the other. The video from this meeting is posted below.
