Powell Signs To Play At Next Level

Another Lake View football student, Marshall Powell, realized his dream of playing football at the next level on Friday, April 13, by signing a letter of into to play football at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
After playing football since he was seven years old, Powell always dreamed of playing football. He continued dreaming until he had completed his high school career at Lake View High School where he signed to play at North Carolina Wesleyan.
Football was something Marshall could share with his family and his parents, grandparents, and with his coaches. All of these had influenced him in the sport of football. Powell understands that this college offers him a great “fit” for him.
As Powell dreams of his future at college, he recalls winning the football state championship in his junior year at Lake View.
Although he received other offers such as Missouri Valley College, he will strive to be a good offensive and defensive lineman at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
In his senior year at Lake View, Powell had 43 tackles and 1 sack.
As pasttimes, Powell enjoys spending time with family and working out.
Marshall’s parents, Jimmy Powell, Jr. and Marsha Powell, are very proud of him and his accomplishments. They are proud that he is continuing his education and playing football at the next level. “We will always support his dream as long as he pursues it.”
Lake View’s Head Football Coach Daryl King stated that Powell had been a valuable part of the Lake View football program the past few years. Powell was a starter on the state championship team. As a senior this past season, Powell provided leadership and was a good player for Lake View. Coach King exclaimed “We wish him the best of luck over his career in college.”
