These Dillon Middle School students recently cast their votes in a statewide reading program called the South Carolina Junior Book Award. 
Each of these students qualified to participate by reading three or more of the 20 books that were nominated for this year’s award, and each of their votes was sent to the state book award committee to be tallied together with the votes of middle school students from across South Carolina.
The winning book was Code of Honor by Alan Gratz. Mr. Gratz will be honored at next year’s conference of the South Carolina Association of School Librarians.
