The Latta Lady Junior Varsity Vikings sail over Dillon Lady Junior Varsity softball 18-5 in 4-inning game played in Dillon on Monday, March 19.
Latta scored the first run in the top of the first inning but Dillon answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning for the only lead of the game.
Latta wasted no time in the top of the second inning placing 7 runs on the scoreboard to put the icing on the cake off of a double by Ragan Bethea, a triple by Jena Stutler, a single by Elizabeth Brown, and a triple by Rayne Nolan.
The Lady Vikings added 2 more runs in the top of the third inning that was answered by Dillon with 3 in the bottom of the third inning off hits by Logan Grice and Charlotte Sellers. However, Latta was still in control and led 10-5.
Latta placed 8 runs in the top of the fourth inning to claim an 18-5 win over Dillon.
Latta’s Jena Stutler drove in 5 runs in the game as she connected for a triple in the second inning, another hit in the third, and a walk in the fourth. Elizabeth Brown, Caroline Anderson, Breleigh Grant, Dixie Collins, and Jena Stutler each picked up rbi.
Ava Rogers picked up the win for Latta and was relived by Jena Stutler, who pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowed no hits, no runs, walked 1, and struck out 2.
Lexie Rogers was charged with the loss. She pitched 2 and 1/3 innings, allowed 7 hits, 10 runs, and struck out 1. Charlotte Sellers pitched 1 inning.
Latta will host Hartsville on Monday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m.
Dillon will travel to Hartsville today, Thursday, March 22, for a 5:00 p.m. game.

The Latta Vikings picked up an 8-1 win over Carvers Bay in a varsity baseball game played in Latta on Thursday, March 15.
Latta placed 3 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning, added 3 more in the second inning, and 2 in the third inning.
Carvers Bay scored a run in the top of the second inning.
Latta’s Chandler Matthews connected for 2 singles, a double, and 2 rbi while Jordan Hayes got a single, a double, and scored 2 runs. McLeod Carmichael garnered a single, a double, and 3 rbi in 4 at-bats. Dylan Brewer connected for a single, a rbi, and scored 2 runs. Deonte Stanley singled and scored 2 runs in 4 trips to the plate.Pierce Watson and Russ Rogers managed a single in 3 at-bats. Kody Anderson picked up a rbi in the game while Hunter Sawyer scored a run.
Carvers Bay committed 4 errors, and Latta was guilty of 2 errors.
McLeod Carmichael picked up the win for Latta. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 1 hit, walked 1, allowed 1 run, and struck out 4.
Dylan Brewer came in relief and pitched 1 inning. He did not allow a run, walked 1, and struck out 1.
J. Avant was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 11 hits, walked no one, and struck out 4.

The Lady Warriors edged Emmanuel Christian School 8-7 in varsity softball action played in Dillon on Monday, March 19.
Emmanuel Christian placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. However, Dillon Christian was able to score 3 runs to take a 3-2 lead after one inning.
Emmanuel Christian re-took the lead scoring 4 runs in the top of the second inning only to have Dillon Christian School add 3 in the bottom of the second inning to take a 1-run lead, 7-6.
There was no scoring in the third inning.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors were able to score a run to increase the lead to 2 runs, 8-6.
The final run of the game came in the top of the fifth inning by Emmanuel Christian to cut the lead to 8-7. Dillon Christian School connected for 14 hits while holding Emmanuel Christian to 8 hits.
Madison Bailey was pefect at the plate with 3 hits and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Janie Altman and Lizzie Outlar each managed 3 hits in 4 trips to the plate while Leah Stephens picked up 2 hits and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats.
Emannuel Christian was guilty of 6 errors, and Dillon Christian was guilty of 3 errors.
Madison Bailey picked up the win for Dillon Christian School. She pitched 5 and 2/3 innings, allowed 6 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, walked one, and struck out 9.
The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors will host Pee Dee Academy on Friday, March 23, at 5:00 p.m.

The Dillon Christian School Warriors picked up a 5-1 win over Emmanuel Christian on Monday, March 19, in varsity baseball played in Dillon.
After 2 scoreless innings of baseball each team garnered a run in the third inning. In the fourth inning the Warriors picked up another run and led 2-1. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Dillon Christian added another run. The sixth inning proved to be the best offense for the Warriors as they scored 3 runs to go up 5-1.
The Dillon Christian School Warriors managed 8 hits while holding Emmanuel Christian to 4 hits. The Warriors committed one error while Emmanuel Christian did not commit any errors.
Jared Darmon connected for 2 hits in 3 at-bats for the Warriors while Ereck Eck garnered a double and 2 rbi in his 2 trips to the plate.
John Rourke picked up the win. He pitched 4 innings and did not allow a hit or a run, walked 2, and struck out 8.
Dillon Christian School will host Pee Dee Academy on Friday, March 23, at 5:00 p.m.

The Latta Lady Vikings handed Carvers Bay a 13-0 loss in the 10-run rule shortened 5-inning game played in Latta on Thursday, March 15.
Latta placed 3 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning and added 5 in each the second and third innings.
Although the Vikings managed 7 hits, Latta was able to place 13 runs on the scoreboard aided by 7 errors and 9 walks by Carvers Bay. Latta did not commit an error in the game.
Latta’s Lauren Webster was perfect at the plate connecting for a double, a single, and 2 rbi in 2 at-bats while Madison Owens hit a solo home run and picked up a rbi in her 3 trips to the plate. Camryn Sawyer also doubled in 3 at-bats.
Carvers Bay connected for 3 hits in the game.
Jayla Jackson picked up the win for Latta. She pitched 5 innings, allowed 3 hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out 5.
Anna McNean was tagged with the loss for Carvers Bay. She pitched 2 and 2/3 innings. She allowed 7 hits, 13 runs of which 9 were earned, walked 9, and struck out 1.
Latta will host Marion on Wednesday, March 21, at 6:00 p.m.

The Lake View Lady Wild Gators edged Green Sea Floyds 4-3 in varsity softball action on Friday, March 16, at home.
Lake View took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added another run in the bottom of the second inning before Green Sea Floyds scored a run in the top fourth inning to close the gap to only 1 run.
Each team managed to score a run in the sixth inning.
Green Sea Floyds placed another run on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh.
Each team managed six hits while Green Sea Floyds committed 2 errors, and Lake View did not commit an error in the game.
Lake View’s Spivey Evans connected for 2 hits and a rbi in 3 at-bats while Alex Elliott garnered a hit and a rbi in 3 trips to the plate. Milashia Wheeler also picked up a hit in 2 at-bats.
Grace Floyd pitched the entire 7-inning game to pick up the win for Lake View. She allowed 6 hits, 3 runs of which 1 was earned, walked 2, hit 2 with pitches, and struck out 6.
Lake View is 3-0 for the season and 1-0 in Region 6-A.
Lake View will host Creek Bridge in a double-header beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Dillon Lady Wildcats dropped a close one to the Hartsville Red Foxes on Thursday, March 22, in Hartsville.
The Red Foxes scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Wildcats knotted the game at 2 in the top of the second inning only to lose the lead again in the bottom of the second inning as Hartsville went up by 2 runs.
Dillon scored another run in the top of the fourth inning but Hartsville tacked on 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 8-3 lead.
The Lady Wildcats placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning but Hartsville once again tacked on 2 of their own in the bottom of the fifth.
Dillon clawed back with 4 runs of their own in the top of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 1. However, the Lady Red Foxes placed the final run of the game on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth to go up by 2 runs.
When the game was over, the Lady Wildcats had committed 4 errors, and the Hartsville Lady Red Foxes had committed 2 errors.
Liz Stroud picked up the win for Hartsville. She pitched 5 and 2/3 innings and allowed 10 hits, 9 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 3, and struck out 9.
Monasia Sowells was tagged with the loss for Dillon. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 9 hits, 11 runs of which 6 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 1.
Dillon’s Abby Bristow connected for a home run, a single, and 2 rbi in her 4 at-bats while Skyler McCoy connected for a home run and 2 rbi in her 3 trips to the plate. Emilee Price garnered a double, a single, and a rbi in her 3 at-bats. Jayla Goodwin connected for a double and 3 rbi in her 4 trips to the plate.
Hartsville’s Taylor Watford connected for a three doubles and 3 rbi in her 4 at-bats while Myra McDonald connected for a home run and a rbi in 3 trips to the plate. Brittany Cothran connected for 2 singles and a rbi in 3 at-bats.
Dillon will travel to Georgetown today, Tuesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m.

East Clarendon left Lake View with a 10-2 win in varsity baseball action played on Friday, March 23.
East Clarendon wasted no time in scoring by placing a run on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning.
Lake View did the same in the bottom of the first inning.
East Clarendon tacked on a run in each of the top of the second and third innings to go up 3-1.
The Wolverines connected for 4 runs in the top of the fourth inning and had a 7-1 lead over Lake View.
The Wild Gators got 1 run across home plate in the bottom of the fourth.
East Clarendon tacked on 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning.
The Wolverines managed 6 hits while holding Lake View to only3 hits.
East Clarendon’s Matthew Coker connected for 2 rbi on 1 hit in 4 at-bats while Ashton Mixon doubled and picked up a rbi in 4 trips to the plate.
Lake View’s Webb Cardwell garnered a hit and a rbi in 3 at-bats.
Justin Evans was the winning pitcher. He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings and allowed 3 hits, 2 runs of which both were earned, walked 8, and struck out 4.
Deonte Roberts was charged with the loss for Lake View. He pitched 3 innings, allowed 1 hts, 4 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 5, and struck out 4.
Lake View will host a double-header against Hemingway today, Tuesday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m.

The Dillon Christian School Warriors came up short 6-3 in a loss against Pee Dee Academy on Friday, March 23, in Dillon in varsity baseball action.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Pee Dee scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Dillon Christian knotted the game at 3 each in the bottom of the sixth inning but fell short in the final inning when Pee Dee scored 3 runs to claim the victory.
Pee Dee Academy managed 8 hits while holding Dillon Christian to only 2 hits.
Garrett McDaniels connected for a total of 3 hits including a home run and a rbi in 5 at-bats for Pee Dee while D. J. Atkinson garnereda double and a rbi in 4 trips to the plate. Timmy Felder managed 2 hits in 4 at-bats.
The Warriors’ Jared Darmon doubled and picked up 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats.
Pee Dee Academy committed 3 errors, and Dillon Christian committed only 1 error.
Brandon Carter picked up the win for Pee Dee. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 1 hit, 2 runs of which both were earned, walked 3, and struck out 2. Jared Darmon was tagged with the loss. He pitched 3 and 2/3 innings and allowed, 3 hits, 4 runs of which 3 were earned, walked 4, and struck out no one. The Dillon Christian School Warriors will travel to Trinity-Byrnes today, Tuesday, March 27, for a 6:30 p.m. game.

The Dillon Lady Wildcats managed a 12-7 win over Waccamaw on Friday, March 23, at Pawley’s Island in varsity softball.
Dillon took an early lead in the top of the first inning with 3 runs and added 2 more runs in the top of the second and was up 5-0 before Waccamaw connected for 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning to cut Dillon’s lead to 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Waccamaw placed 5 runs on the scoreboard to take a 7-5 lead over Dillon.
Dillon knotted the game at 7 in the top of the fifth inning and added 5 runs in the top of the sixth to take a 12-7 lead that ultimately would be the final score of the game.
Each team was guilty of 6 errors in the game.
Monasia Sowells picked up the win. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 6 hits, 7 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 4.
Dillon’s Qyasia Wilson connected for a 2 singles, a double, and 4 rbi in her 5 at-bats while Skyler McCoy had a single, a double, and 2 rbi in her 4 at-bats. Emilee Price managed 3 hits and a rbi in 5 at-bats.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats will travel to Georgetown today, Tuesday, March 27, for a softball game.

The Dillon Wildcats returned home Friday, March 23, after being held scoreless in a 7-0 loss to Waccamaw in varsity baseball action played in Pawleys Island.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when Waccamaw managed to score a run. Waccamaw added 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth and tacked on 3 more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Waccamaw managed 7 runs on 6 hits in the game.
Although Dillon managed 4 hits, the team was unable to place any runs on the scoreboard.
Dillon’s Jon-Mitchell Carter, Noah Carter, and Davis Cook each connected for a hit in 3 at-bats.
Jaret Montenery picked the win for Waccamaw. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 4 hits, no runs, walked 2, and struck out 12. Billy McGrit pitched 5 innings for Dillon. He was charged with the loss. He allowed 4 hits, 5 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 6, and struck out 11.
Dillon committed 5 errors in the game.
Dillon will travel to Georgetown today, Tuesday, March 27, for a 6:30 p.m. game.

Christian School Lady Warriors on 12-0 loss in 5 innings in Dillon in varsity softball action played on Friday, March 23.
Pee Dee managed to get 3 runs across home plate in the top of the first inning and tacked on 4 runs in each of the third and fourth innings. The final run was added in the top of the fifth inning.
The Golden Eagles connected for 13 hits in the game while holding the Lady Warriors to only 1 hit.
Dillon Christian School committed 3 errors.
Pee Dee Academy did not commit any errors in the game.
Dillon Christian will travel to Trinity-Byrnes to day, Tuesday, March 23, for a 6:00 p.m. game.

The Latta Vikings edged Johnsonville 5-3 in varsity baseball action played in Johnsonville on Friday, March 23.
Johnsonville scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning. Latta responded with 2 runs of their own in the top of the second inning and added another run in the top of the third inning.
Johnsonville tied the game at 3 with 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a double by Z. Wall.
Latta tacked on a run in the top of the fifth when Dylan Brewer connected for a single and rbi and another run in the top of the seventh inning to claim the win.
Latta managed 9 hits in the game.
The Vikings’ Dylan Brewer connected for a single, a triple, and 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats, and Deonte Stanley garnered 2 singles and scored 3 runs in his 4 trips to the plate. Kody Anderson hit a home run, 2 rbi, and scored a run in his 3 at-bats. Russ Rogers picked up 2 rbi in the game. McLeod Carmichael, Jackson Powers, and Chandler Matthews each singled in 3 at-bats.
Z. Wall singled, doubled, and picked up a rbi in his 2 at-bats for Johnsonville while L. Brown was perfect at the plate with a single in his 1 trip to the plate. P. Fannell singled, picked up a rbi, and scored a run in his at-bats.
Noah Henderson was credited with the win for the Vikings. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 3 hits, 3 runs of which were earned, walked 2, and struck out 7. McLeod Carmichael picked up the save. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 1 hit, walked 1, struck out 2, and did not allow a run.

L. Brown was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, walked 3, struck out 5, and allowed 4 runs which were earned.
M. Bazen pitched 1 inning for Johnsonville. He allowed 1 hit, walked 1, struck out 2, and allowed 1 run that was not earned.
Latta committed 5 errors in the game while Johnsonville was guilty of 2 errors.

The Latta Lady Vikings edged out Johnsonville 7-4 in the ninth inning in varsity softball action played in Johnsonville on Friday, March 23.
Johnsonville scored 2 runs in the bottom of the third to take a 2-0 lead over the visiting Latta team.
The Vikings managed to score a run in the top of the fourth and placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead that would be short-lived as Johnsonville added 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead that also would be short-lived as Latta knotted the game at 4 in the top of the sixth inning.
The score remained that way until Latta managed to score 3 runs in the top of the ninth inning and was able to hold Johnsonville scoreless in the bottom of the ninth to claim the win. Each team managed 8 hits. Latta’s Kaleigh Caulder hit a triple, a single, picked up a rbi, and scored 2 runs in her 3 at-bats while Kyra Grant singled and picked up 2 rbi in her 5 plate appearances. Camryn Sawyer singled, doubled, and picked up 3 rbi in her 5 at-bats. Jesselyn Bryant connected for 2 singles in her 5 plate appearances. Arica Gandy garnered a single in her 3 at-bats. Madison Owens, Rayne Nolan, and Jayla Jackson each scored a run. Johnsonville’s Jada Parsons connected for 3 singles, a double, 2 rbi, and scored a run in her 4 at-bats. Kirby Blakely singled and picked up a rbi in her 4 at-bats. Maelyn Thompson singled and scoredd a run in her 4 at-bats. Maggie Leviner singled and scored 2 runs in her 4 plate appearances. Brook Thames garnered a double in her 4 at-bats. Johnsonville committed 6 errors while Latta committed 4 errors.
Arica Gandy picked up the win for Latta. She pitched the entire 9-inning game and allowed 8 hits, walked 2, struck out 5, and allowed 3 earned runs. Jada Parsons also pitched the entire 9-inning game and was charged with the loss. She allowed 8 hits, struck out 3, walked 4, and allowed 6 runs of which 4 were earned.
