The Dillon County Council held a called meeting on Friday, August 18th.
County Administrator Rodney Berry said that there was going to be a Thursday night concert series during the month of September. He said there will be different bands on each Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event will be called Thursday Night Live. He said there was really no cost except to pay the bands. They plan to partner with the Chamber and the Public-Private Partnership on the event.
Berry said the Anderson Brothers Bank Law Enforcement Appreciation dinner had a great turnout. Both Dillon and Marion law enforcement and officials attended.
Also, the first reading to change the zoning to facilitate the expansion of Harbor Freight Tools was held. The motion was made by Councilman Robbie Coward and seconded by Councilman T.F. “Buzzy” Finklea, Jr. All present approved. Councilman Harold Moody and Councilman Stevie Grice were not present.
