Graveside services for Emily Braswell Shelley will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shelley, 93, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at her residence.
Born in Marion County, SC, January 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James Raymond Braswell and Walker Viola Lane Braswell. She was a member of Latta United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Claire (Wallace) Sellers of Mullins, SC, and Marcia Johnson of Latta; son, S. Raymond Shelley of Timmonsville, SC; grandchildren, Duncan (Penny) Sellers, Michael Medlin, Kimberly Brumble, Michael (Jessica) Johnson, and Christina Anthony; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; caregivers, Dorothy Small, Loretta Ellerbe, Wendy Brigman, and Barbara Dixon.
Mrs. Shelley was preceded in death by her husband, Starr C. Shelley, Jr.; granddaughter, Emily Susan Medlin; sister, Mary Frances Braswell Still; and her brother, Harry Alvin Braswell.
