PHOTO GALLERY: Lake View Gets Narrow Win Over Latta

Although Latta held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning, Lake View won the game 4-3 when a Latta error scored Hunter Tarte from third in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Payton Jackson pitched 6 innings for Lake View with Lake View on top 3-2 at the end of 6 innings. Jalik Roberts came in relief to pitch the final inning. Roberts struck out 1, allowed 1 hit, allowed 1 run that was not earned, and walked 1.
Hunter Sawyer pitched the complete game for Latta and was tagged with the loss. Sawyer allowed 5 hits, 4 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 7.
Lake View placed a run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning and added 2 more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Each team managed to get a run across home in the final inning. Jonathan Davis was perfect at the plate for Lake View while connecting for 3 hits and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Payton Jackson picked up a rbi and a hit in his 2 at-bats.
Latta’s Chandler Matthews garnered a hit and a rbi in 2 at-bats while Chase Mishue doubled in his 2 at-bats. Latta committed 4 errors in the game, and Lake View committed 3.
Lake View is 6-2 for the season and will host Pamplico on Wednesday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m. Latta hosted Marlboro Tuesday, June 27.
