Lake View American Junior Legion Baseball Team Returns Home With Win Over Pee Dee

The Lake View Junior American League baseball team traveled to Florence on Monday, June 19, to face Pee Dee and returned home with a 5-1 win. Jake Lane pitched 1 and 2/3 innings to get the win for Lake View. He struck out 3, allowed no hits, no runs, and walked 2. After pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and striking out 9, Preston Miles was tagged with the loss for Pee Dee. He allowed 2 hits, 2 runs of which 1 was earned, and walked 3. Each team committed 2 errors in the game.
Although Pee Dee garnered 6 hits, and Lake View managed only 5, Lake View captured the victory. Pee Dee managed to get the first run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning. However, Lake View quickly knotted the score at 1 as Lake View garnered a run in the top of the fifth inning. The score remained tied until the top of the seventh inning when Lake View managed to get 4 runs to cross home plate. Webb Cardwell connected for 1 hit and 2 rbi in 2 at-bats for Lake View while Copper Lane garnered a hit in his 1 at-bat. Johnathan Davis picked up a rbi and a hit in his 2 at-bats. Pee Dee’s Powers Rogers connected for a hit and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Lake View hosted Dillon on Wednesday, June 21.
