Danny Mike Arnette

On May 28, 2017 Danny Mike Arnette was called to be with his Lord and Savior.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
He was born in Mullins, SC on January 12, 1951. He is survived by his wife Nancy Proctor Arnette, children, Danny Mike Arnette Jr (Cathy), Timothy Wayne Arnette (Caren); grandchildren, Victoria Caroline Arnette, Baxleigh Marie Arnette, Azeleigh Carynton Arnette, Emmry Odell Arnette, brother, Donald Teddy Arnette (Faye); nephew Woody Arnette; nieces, Donna Rose Voth and Toni Arnette. He is the son of the late Joseph Quincey Arnette and Carolyn Baxley Arnette. He is preceded in death by his grandson Joseph William Arnette.
Mr. Danny was a lifelong member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He has served in various organizations over the years such as President of Farm Bureau, Masonic Lodge member for 25 years, and member of Eastern Star. He is also past recipient of Dillon County Farmer of the Year.
He was an avid reader, loved to travel with his wife and family, and enjoyed activities such as fishing off the pier, retreating to Ocean Isle Beach for weekends, and mountain trips. One of Mr. Danny’s greatest treasures was his grandchildren. He and Nancy have helped raise their grandchildren for the past 20 years. They have surrounded them with love and support that is immeasurable and will never be forgotten. Danny never missed an opportunity to be at every event his grandchildren participated in from t-ball games, dance recitals, volleyball games, and softball tournaments. He was a man that was loved by many and had much love to give to those around him. His healing did not come on our terms and how we would have liked but instead in God’s way and His timing. We rejoice in knowing that he is no longer bound by the restraints of medication and therapies. He has found perfect health and happiness with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The family would like to express their gratitude for your love and acts of service to them during this time. You have been a tremendous blessing to them in their time of need and have been God’s token of grace.
Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House or Piney Grove Baptist Church.
