Pilot Club Meets

The Pilot Club of Dillon met on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the City of Dillon Fire Department at 6:30 p.m. Seven members were present.
The meeting was called to order by President-Elect Johnnie Luehrs. She welcomed each member and had special prayer for the Stephens family in the loss of Jane Stephens. The club then stood and recited the pledges to the American and the SC flag.
Chaplain Millie Stanton gave the invocation on scripture from Psalm 34:8; Taste and see that the Lord is good.
She spoke on how we should find God in every moment of life and celebrate his blessings.
After her invocation, she blessed the refreshments.
Secretary Melissa Moody read the minutes from the February meeting.
They were approved by Chris Harris and seconded by Millie Stanton. She also mentioned the article was placed in The Dillon Herald and in the Pilot newsletter. Francis Shillingburg read the Treasurer’s report and stated the current budget. She also acknowledged that the Mother/Son Dance was a great fundraiser and maybe next year making a few changes and additions. New business stated was the Dillon School District 4 Olympic Games donation.
Refreshments were offered by Johnnie Luehrs. The St. Jude and Mystery gift monies were collected. The mystery gift was won by Dot Watson. The meeting was then adjourned.
The Pilot Club of Dillon is a non-profit organization that focuses on brain-related activities such as Alzheimer’s disease, chemical dependency, traumatic brain injuries, and developmental and mental disabilities.
