Services for John Duncan Flowers, Sr. will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hamer Church of God with burial in Flowers Family Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Flowers, 84, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, January 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Thomas Everett Flowers, Sr. and Kanawah McDaniel Flowers. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran, retired from Dixiana Mills, and attended Hamer Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ora Lee Evans Flowers of Hamer; sons, John Duncan Flowers, Jr. of Dillon, and Tony Lee Flowers of Hamer; daughter, Angela Flowers Brewer (Richard) of Darlington; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Flowers of Dillon, Danielle Brewer Mosley (Garrett) of Darlington, Heidi Hup of New Ellenton, SC, and Stephanie Brewer and her fiance’ (Bradley Newsome) of Hartsville, and Andrew Flowers of Hamer; two great-grandchildren, Derrick and Evan Hup.
