Services for William Eugene “Gene” Carter will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Piney Grove Church Cemetery in Sellers. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter, 65, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Born in Mullins, SC, August 10, 1951, he was the son of the late Oscar Monroe Carter and Geneva Lewis Carter. He was a Carpenter.
Survivors include his sons, Oscar Gene (Laura) Carter, and John Kelly Carter, both of Sellers; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Monroe (Hazel) Carter of Latta, Johnny (Betty) Carter, and Robert Carter, both of Sellers; sisters, Diane (Russell) Hyatt, Edna Miller, and Sallie Carter, all of Sellers; special loved one, Patsy Powers of Latta; great-friends, Deborah Coxe, and Stevie Cox.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Michael Chandler Carter and Oscar Gene Carter, Jr. and a brother, Billy Carter.
