Latta Baptist Church To Observe 125th Anniversary

Latta Baptist Church is celebrating their 125th Anniversary on Sunday, October 9.
The church was formed in September of 1891, and their first pastor was Rev. R.H. Burris.
The church sanctuary, that is still in use today, was built in 1909. It replaced a wooden structure on the same site. The Educational Building was built in 1951 and another addition to the church, the Fellowship Hall building, was completed in 1986.

In 1991, the church celebrated their 100th Anniversary with Rev. Chris Bowman as the pastor.
Latta Baptist has long been known for her support of missions, missionaries, and mission projects, in order to see people come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord.
In September of 2009, Latta Baptist called Rev. Rob Pierce to serve as their pastor and he has just completed his 7th year as pastor.
Currently the church has two morning worship services, one at 8:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall that is more informal with contemporary music, and another at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary that is more traditional.
