Lois Stephens Lytch

Lois Stephens Lytch, 90, entered her eternal rest January 27, 2016. She claimed with confidence the promises of her Lord Jesus. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. February 12, 2016 at Main Street United Methodist Church with committal service at 2:00 p.m. graveside at Midway Presbyterian Church in Maxton, N.C. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Asbury Hall at the Church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Lois was born August 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Charlie Kernie and Ima Butler Stephens.  She grew up in the Hamer Community and graduated from Dillon High School. During World War II she served as an office administrator at the Maxton Air Base. At the end of the war she met her future husband, the late Gilbert Lytch, when he returned from the service in the Pacific Theater. They were married on April 12, 1947 in the church where she was raised, Kentyre Pesbyterian.
She worked in various administrative positions before devoting all her time to rearing her two sons, Steve and David. Gilbert’s career in sales and marketing took them to live in many different places before they retired to Dillon in 1991. Since then she has been a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and involved in the life of the Dillon community. Lois was ordained as an Elder in Presbyterian Church (USA). She was a licensed Real Estate Agent, an avid golfer, and an enthusiastic gardener.
Mrs. Lytch is survived by her sons, Dr. David Lytch of Dillon, SC and the Reverend Dr. Stephens Lytch (Carol) of Lancaster, PA; granddaughter, Katherine Lytch of Madrid, Spain; grandson, William Lytch of Austin TX; three great grandchildren; brothers, Kromer Stephens (Sara) of Dillon, SC and Merrit Stephens of Daytona Beach, FL; and sisters, Mattie Lee Stephens of Dillon, SC and Margaret Richardson of Greensboro, NC. She was predeceased by her brother, Craig Stephens.
