Latta’s Vikings boys defeated Green Sea Floyds 80 to 74 in basketball action on Friday at Green Sea.
The competitive game found Latta in the lead after the first quarter 28 to 17. However, in the second quarter Green Sea outscored Latta 23 to 15. The third quarter was closer in the scoring department as Latta only scored 3 points more than their competitor.
The fourth quarter was even at 20 points each.
Latta’s Karilus McFadden not only grabbed 12 rebounds but also scored a game-high 32 points in the victory.
Davonta Porter grabbed 17 rebounds and connected for 21 points while Tyquan Porter garnered 13 points in the win.
Diez Mungro added 8 points, Tyreik McAlister had 4, and Justin Hall added 2 points in the win.
Green Sea Floyds was led in scoring by Shaquawn Gillard and Calogero Miles who each scored 19 points.
Shammond Williams had 16 points while Geralds added 9, Dixon added 6, and Graham added 5 for Green Sea Floyds.
Latta has a 7 and 1 record in Region 8-A and will host Carvers Bay tonight (Tuesday) at 6 p.m.
